A large part of your business success is using a good autoresponder. The job of an autoresponder is to receive your leads that are captured on your squeeze page, web site or wherever you collect leads. You can then send out the immediate message which will be a verified opt-in message which means the receiver will need to respond to the message verifying they really want to receive messages from you. Once the lead sends back the verification message then your autoresponder will automatically send another message welcoming them to your list. You then will send out 4 or 5 follow-up messages on set days, such as 2, 3, or 4 days apart. You will need to write those messages on the autoresponder. It can be set up several months in advance so each month you have messages going out to your list.
Broadcasting
It also allows for broadcasting announcements such as for a new product or a contest you want to hold. Send out a set number of messages which will inform your list of the contest, giving an ending date like “Contest ends Friday at Midnight.” Then on Thursday a message will be set up to go out “only one day left,” on Friday a reminder, “Tonight is your last night to enter!” These are just a few ideas for using an auto responder.
Taking care of the customer
You can also be annoying by contacting your people too often. Treat them carefully. If you do send daily be sure to offer some advice of value or an occasional free gift. Your business is to sell but the only way to do that is by communicating with the customer and earning their trust.
Now you have the list but you haven’t made the sale yet. This is where you take advantage of giving out a free report when they sign up. Start creating a relationship. Be sure the products you offer will do what you say they will do and never sell crap because if you do that’s what your reputable business will become.
Keeping up with the messages and the customers is time consuming. As a business person you are responsible for the ideas and the implementation of them. With the help of a good autoresponder you will be able to write the messages set the sendout schedule and feel confident that the messages will go out on time. Take the time to read the working of the auto responder you choose.
There are several Autoresponders but the most popular are AWeber and Get Response. I recommend AWeber for the price and the ease of use, plus you get unlimited lists and messaging.

The Internet is drawing more and more people who want to work from home. That wonderful computer is taking you to websites that tell you of overnight success and if you are like most of us you are overwhelmed. As a business owner you are trying to get exposure. You want people to find you on the ginormous (yes it’s a word, I used spell check) Internet. How do you get on the search engines? Here’s one way:
When you update a web page or your Blog go to Pingomatic. Put in the Url of your page or Blog, check common, then Ping away. Only ping once but everytime you update. This sends your updated page for search engines to pick you up. You will start seeing visitors coming to your Website and/or Blog.

Born in the early 50’s she knew her life was to marry, have children, and care for the home. She did it. As two young hippies they built a log home in the woods thinking to live with nature. Many people just starting out with an online business of any type need to remember there are hundreds of similar or related businesses like their own that are new too. When any business starts out they need customers like all businesses do. They need a reliable customer list.The whole idea of joint ventures is to get list owners to place your ad in their newsletter and you place an ad for them in yours.
If you are so new and have no list at all or a newsletter there’s a solution for that as well. Try contacting the list owner with the promise of placing their ad in your auto responder forever, if they will put your ad in their newsletter at least once. For example, let’s say you are selling dog houses online contact online dog grooming supply outlets, pet supply shops, or doggie bed companies. Those are similar to what you are selling. Once they swap ads with you then you both profit. Nearly everyone say the list is the best way to establish your business. There are many ways to get lists. You can buy them, you can spend money to advertise never knowing if it will work, list building programs you can join will work when you upgrade for a price.
However; when you decide to try joint venturing it won’t cost you a thing and you will get a type of exposure your business needs by contacting those other businesses similar to yours.
Here is a way to get started:
- Search Clickbank or Commission Junction for 30-50 businesses similar to yours.
- Sign up for their newsletter
- After receiving the newsletters see if they advertise other products besides their own, otherwise eliminate them from your collection.
- Email the owner of the list. The contact letter needs to be worded so the list owner knows exactly what you are promoting. In the subject line say something like “I want to promote you to my list” or “Can I send you some sales?” Do not say anything about “JV Proposal” because they probably won’t open it.
- Keep a log or spreadsheet of the ones you’ve contacted so you know the responses.
- You will want to send follow-up email even to those who haven’t replied.
- Remember you will get some “no’s” like in any other sales project. Just go on to the next one until you get at least 10 “yes’s” and watch your business grow.
Joint Ventures done this way can be very profitable, as your list grows and you develop friendships along the way. All you need is 10 partners to send you 100 visitors each. If your squeeze page converts 30% of those 1,000 visitors, you’ll soon have a list of 300 subscribers.
